Welcome from Peter Chatfield, Chair
I warmly welcome your interest in the Patient Representative Group (PRG) which is affiliated with the National Association for Patient Participation. We were established in 2005 to provide patients with an important link to the Pound Hill Medical Group (PHMG). We are all patients of the PHMG and work collaboratively with the Practice, offering the patient’s perspective and acting as a “critical friend” to help improve the experience of patients attending the surgery. Our views have always been sympathetically received by the Practice, and indeed many suggestions implemented (e.g. to discontinue premium rate telephone numbers, and to offer appointments outside normal hours primarily for commuters) with our input. Please let us have any positive messages you may have, or suggestions where you would like to see changes. We want, with your help, to improve the experience of all of us using PHMG. I would be glad to hear from anyone interested in joining the PRG. We are especially keen to recruit BME and younger members because of their current under-representation in the PRG.

The Pound Hill Medical Group will be asking a selection of our patients on a monthly basis if they would recommend the Practice to a Friend or Family Member and seeking positive and constructive feedback. If you would like to take part please follow this link:
This month we had a return that 97% would definitely recommend or likely to recommend the Practice to a Friend of Family Member.
We would like to thank all of our patients for their patience while we have been implementing the Electronic Prescribing Service and would encourage any patient who has not yet signed up to speak to their pharmacist or the reception staff at the practice.
We have recently employed a Physician Associate who will be able to manage a number of our patients medical concerns under the management of a GP. This will help to improve the access to appointments for our patients.
We would encourage any patient to sign up to our Online booking services where you can book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance with a GP of your choice. Also we would like to remind all patients that we have an Acute Illness Clinic run by our trained Triage Team from 8:00AM to 12:00AM every morning who would call you back and be able to deal with any urgent medical issues on that day.
